The Lynhall No. 3945 in Edina is slated to close on Aug. 24 at the end of its five-year lease. But it won’t be dark for long: DDP Restaurant Group will take over the space.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to operate in Edina and to our many faithful guests and team members who we had the honor to serve and work alongside over the years,” Lynhall owner Anne Knipe said in a statement.

She said the decision to end this era of operations came with mixed emotions. “We opened during the pandemic in August of 2020 as the first tenant of Nolan Mains with a lot of optimism and hope,” Knipe said.

It was the second Lynhall location. The original at 2640 Lyndale Av. S. in Minneapolis first opened as an all-day restaurant with additional room for events, a video-ready studio kitchen and a longstanding commitment to serve the community including with the Long Table Fund. In 2023, that business pivoted from restaurant to a full-time event venue, which continues to host people in that capacity.

Edina carried on with its rough hewn tables, pretty vintage plates and a special afternoon tea service that fans adored. In this last month, one more afternoon tea has been added to the Friday before it closes.

Guests are encouraged to redeem gift cards and come in to bid farewell to the space before that final day on Aug. 24. The following day there will be a sale for furnishings.

The property won’t be vacant for long as DDP Restaurant Group has confirmed plans to open something new. Via a statement, the company said it is thrilled to work with the city of Edina and the 50th and France neighborhood saying in part, “The project in the Lynhall space is the first of multiple initiatives to bring new and fun projects to the crossroads. More details will be coming in September.”

DDP Restaurant Group, headed by chef Daniel del Prado, is also involved in the nearby Dexter’s, an elevated sports bar. Its other restaurants include Martina, Colita, Minari, Porzana and Rosalia. The expansion news comes on the heels of the announcement of a third Rosalia location in St. Louis Park. DDP closed closed its Cafe Ceres locations in May.
