No. 1 Notre Dame rallies for split with Bulldogs • NOTRE DAME 5, MINNESOTA DULUTH 3: The top-ranked Irish scored five unanswered goals after trailing early to beat the host Bulldogs on Saturday for a split of their series.

The No. 8 Bulldogs (1-1) took a 2-0 lead on a goal by Travis Oleksuk and the first of two goals by Mike Seidel. Both also scored in national champion UMD's 4-3 victory Friday.

But the Irish, who lost to UMD in last season's Frozen Four semifinals, went ahead 3-2 by the end of the second period on goals by Nick Larson, T.J. Tynan and Anders Lee. Larson is a former St. Thomas Academy and Eastview athlete; Lee played high school hockey at Edina.

• BOSTON COLLEGE 6, NORTH DAKOTA 2: Pat Mullane had two goals and an assist, Johnny Gaudreau had a goal and three assists and the fifth-ranked Eagles scored four goals in the second period in a rout of the third-ranked Sioux for the Ice Breaker tournament championship in Grand Forks, N.D. Bill Arnold had a goal and two assists for BC, which scored the final five goals after the Sioux took a 2-1 lead.

• MIAMI (OHIO) 3, BEMIDJI STATE 2: Matt Tomassoni scored twice, including the winning shorthanded goal with 4 minutes, 55 seconds to play, and the No. 2 RedHawks earned a series split with the Beavers in Oxford, Ohio. Bemidji State led 2-1 in the second period on Jordan George's goal, but Miami tied it less than two minutes later.

• WISCONSIN 3, NORTHERN MICHIGAN 2: Derek Lee scored at 16:16 of the third period and Justin Schultz had three assists as the Badgers came back from a two-goal deficit to beat the Wildcats for a series split in Madison, Wis.

• RPI 4, MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO 1: The Engineers scored two power-play goals one night after going 0-for-11 on the man-advantage and earned a series split with the Mavericks in Troy, N.Y.

• COLGATE 4, NEBRASKA OMAHA 3: Joe Wilson scored the tiebreaking goal with 2 minutes left in the second period as the Raiders beat the host Mavericks to win the Mutual of Omaha Stampede Championship.

• MICHIGAN TECH 3, AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL 1: Jacob Johnstone had two goals and Mikael Lickteig two assists as the Huskies swept the Yellow Jackets in Houghton, Mich.
