Baseball state tournament: How it played out in the Class 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A semifinals

The Minnesota high school baseball state tournament began Wednesday at three stadiums across Minnesota, albeit with a rain delay in St. Paul, but all 16 first-round games were completed eventually.

Here’s a recap of the quarterfinal round.

Class A at Joe Faber (St. Cloud)

9:30 a.m.: New Ulm Cathedral 8, South Ridge 1

11:30 a.m.: Red Lake County 4, Parkers Prairie 3

Class 2A at Dick Putz Field (St. Cloud)

11:30 a.m.: Glencoe-Silver Lake 2, Duluth Marshall 1

Class 3A at Mini Met (Jordan)

9:30 a.m.: Mahtomedi 6, Hutchinson 5

1:00 p.m.: Mankato East 2, Delano 0

Class 4A at CHS Field (St. Paul)

2 p.m.: Cretin-Derham Hall 7, Farmington 1
