The Gophers are 3-3 in their past six games — they won the rebounding battle in the three victories and were outrebounded in the three defeats. ... The Gophers lost 70-67 to Nebraska at Williams Arena in December, a game in which they led by four with less than 4 minutes left before being outscored 13-6 the rest of the way. ... G Sara Scalia has scored in double figures 17 games in a row, averaging 20.1 points per game during that stretch. Scalia is 10th in the Big Ten in scoring (17.1). G Deja Winters has averaged 16.5 points and shot 46.4% on threes (13-for-28) in her past four games. The Gophers are second in the Big Ten in three-point shooting (37.9).
Nebraska update: The Huskers (19-7, 8-7) have had an up-and-down week. They beat No. 5 Indiana at home before losing at Penn State 83-76 Thursday. Nebraska led that game 61-52 before being outscored 31-15 in the fourth quarter. Still, Nebraska is first in the Big Ten in scoring margin (plus-15.7), opponents' shooting percentage (37.2) and rebounding (43.2). Nebraska is also fourth in the conference in scoring (78.2). ... The Huskers are led by Alexis Markowski (12.9 points), one of four Nebraska players averaging in double figures. G Jaz Shelley is the only conference players in the top twenty in scoring (12.3, 19th), rebounds (7.2, ninth), assists (4.8, sixth), blocks (1.2, second) and steals (1.8, eighth). ... The 19 victories are the team's most since 2017-18.
