Eden Prairie has a name for its first city-branded THC gummy: Little Berry on the Prairie.

Leaders at the city’s liquor store this summer announced that they were preparing to sell a purple-pink, mixed-berry gummy designed specifically for Eden Prairie and asked for residents’ help naming it.

Suggestions flooded in, with more than 50 coming on the first day.

When the contest closed at noon Friday, Little Berry on the Prairie had the most votes on the store’s Facebook page and was declared the winner.

“Thank-you to everyone who helped us NAME THAT GUMMY — either by submitting a name or casting a vote,” the city said in a news release. “We couldn’t have done it without you!”

The gummy will come in packs of 10 and sell for $19.99 when it hits stores this fall. It was “crafted for sleep” based on customers’ requests, Jaime Urbina, Eden Prairie’s liquor operations manager, said in an interview in July.

Eden Prairie appears to be the first Minnesota city to launch its own branded gummy as THC product sales continue to grow in the municipal liquor business across the state.

The Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association is also working on a product that could be available by the end of the year.
