Wal-Mart's website offers caskets for sale Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has started selling caskets on its website at prices that undercut many funeral homes. The move follows a similar one by discount rival Costco. All but one of Wal-Mart's caskets are less than $2,000; the Sienna Bronze model sells for $3,199. Caskets ship within 48 hours. Federal law requires funeral homes to accept third-party caskets.

Costco will begin accepting food stamps Costco Wholesale Corp. says it will start accepting food stamps at its warehouse clubs nationwide. Costco began accepting food stamps at its New York stores this year under political pressure. The company doubted many would use them but saw a strong response and will accept them in at least half its stores nationwide by Thanksgiving.
