In the quest to find a replacement for its Fighting Sioux nickname, the University of North Dakota has options.

So many options.

The Grand Forks Herald notes that there were 842 pages of suggestions from the public for what the new nickname should be.

Only 214 of those pages contain nicknames that will actually be considered, so that should cut a decades-long project to mere years.

Joking aside, it should be interesting to see what direction UND goes with this. My leaders in the clubhouse: Flickertails, Aviators and Mallards have a nice ring.
