Toro acquires greens roller line

December 9, 2011 at 2:25PM

The Toro Co. said Friday it has acquired the Graden greens roller line of golf course maintenance products.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Other turf maintenance product lines sold by Graden USA of Richmond, Va., were not part of the acquisition, according to a Toro news release.

The new line, including the GSR 1200 greens roller, gives Toro an entry into a new product category, broadening the Bloomington-based company's offerings to golf customers, Toro said.

The process of rolling greens is believed to produce faster ball speeds, according to articles published by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

"Rolling greens has become an important agronomic practice for golf courses that improves the health and playability of the greens," Darren Redetzke, vice president of Toro's commercial business, said in the release.
