Tesla Motors, maker of electric cars, plans IPO Electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors Inc. said Friday it plans to sell stock to the public. The company, based in Palo Alto, Calif., did not disclose in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission specifically how much it plans to raise, though it listed $100 million as a placeholder figure. The actual amount it raises could be higher. Tesla also did not give a date for when it plans to launch the IPO, nor did it say how many shares it would sell or at what price.

Advocate's lawsuit against Delta to go forward A lawsuit by a passenger rights advocate seeking at least $11 million from Delta Air Lines for allegedly conspiring to obtain hacked e-mails from her computer has survived a challenge from the airline. A federal judge in Houston has rejected Delta's request to throw out the lawsuit. U.S. District Judge Sim Lake said in an order dated Thursday that a reasonable person could conclude that it was more likely than not that it was Delta that hacked into Kate Hanni's computer and stole her files. Delta denies wrongdoing.

AIG releases list of toxic assets that led to bailout American International Group Inc. disclosed details of the toxic securities that helped trigger a massive taxpayer rescue of the giant insurer. In a public filing, AIG listed the securities held in its Maiden Lane III business, which the company and the government created to purchase toxic assets, repay debt and provide capital for some of AIG's operations after its $182.5 billion federal bailout.
