St. Paul man identified as encampment shooting victim

Steffon T. Jennings was shot and killed Sunday.

Authorities on Tuesday identified the man killed earlier this week in a homeless encampment in St. Paul.

According to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office and the St. Paul police, Steffon T. Jennings, 37, of St. Paul, was shot to death Sunday afternoon at an encampment on the 1200 block of Jackson Street.

No arrests have been made in connection to Jennings’ death.

The shooting was St. Paul’s fifth homicide this year.
