St. Croix Lutheran senior Jon Tollefson defended both of his titles in the Class A boys 110- and 300-meter hurdles for a third straight season on Saturday at Hamline University.
Tollefson ran the 110 meter hurdles in 14.61 seconds after setting the Class A record at 13.92 seconds during the preliminary stage on Friday.
"It's been a fun four years of hurdling, and today I just wanted to finish strong in my senior year," Tollefson said. "I feel like I've done that."
Tollefson, who will run track at Harvard next year, won the 330-meter hurdles at 37.96 seconds. Minnehaha Academy senior Samuel Lundquist finished second in the event again.
The two were separated by a thousandth of a second last year in the finals.
"This is the race I get most nervous about but also excited at the same time," Tollefson said. "It's been fun racing against Sam the last four years.
