Skull found by New Brighton lake identified as remains of woman missing since 2015

Haley Elizabeth Aymar was last seen by a friend in downtown Minneapolis.

A skull found along a New Brighton lake has been identified as the remains of Haley Elizabeth Aymar, missing more than a decade.

A dental record comparison completed on the skull, found on March 1, 2025, identified the remains as Aymar earlier this year, according to New Brighton’s Department of Public Safety.

A missing person report was filed by Aymar’s mother on Dec. 29, 2015, with Mounds View police. Aymar was last seen in downtown Minneapolis by a friend on Dec. 3, 2015. That is also the last update on her social media, according to a statement posted by New Brighton officials. She was 24 at the time.

The skull was found near Lake Jones in New Brighton, leading to a three-day search of the heavily wooded and wetland area.
