Consumer Reports lists the best time to buy due to pre- or post-season sales or new model introductions (and previous models go on sale):

JANUARY Bedding, CDS and DVDs, cookware, houses and condos, linens, swimwear, toys, treadmills, TVs, winter clothing.

FEBRUARY Houses and condos, humidifiers, indoor furniture, small consumer electronics (MP3 players, digital cameras, DVD players), treadmills.

MARCH Computers, humidifiers, TVs, winter coats, winter sports gear.

APRIL Digital cameras, spring clothing.

MAY Athletic apparel and shoes, cordless phones, small consumer electronics.

JUNE Computers, indoor furniture, small consumer electronics, summer sports gear, swimwear.
