SAN DIEGO — Top-seeded Sachia Vickery beat second-seeded Alexandra Kiick 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 on Sunday to win the USTA Girls' 18s National Championship at Barnes Tennis Center.

Vickery, the 18-year-old Miramar, Fla., player who is 230th in the WTA Tour rankings, overcame a slow start and finished strong to close out Kiick, from Plantation, Fla., in 1 hour, 46 minutes.

Vickery earned a wild card into the women's singles main draw in the U.S. Open.

"It feels unbelievable. It hasn't sunken in that I'm going to be playing at the U.S. Open," Vickery said. "It's been my dream since I started playing tennis. I can't even put it into words how happy I am."
