Wolves guard Luke Ridnour will sit out from practices and games for the next week and then will have his strained left hamstring re-evaluated.
And...Michael Beasley had ice packed on that left hip and he was grimacing in pain as he walked off the court after shootaround but expect him to play.
Ridnour was examined by a doctor in L.A. on Monday and his injury was determined to be a strain, not a torn hamstring.
That one-week timetable doesn't mean he'll be ready to play in a week. It just means he'll be examined again.
Ridnour's absence means Sebastian Telfair will start for the 1-6 Wolves against the 7-0 Lakers and likely will be asked to play 40-plus minutes for a team that now is missing both Ridnour and Jonny Flynn.
Kurt Rambis calls Mo Ager his backup point guard, but shooting guard Wayne Ellington also could see some minutes there, at least some of the few that Telfair doesn't play.
NBA writer Sam Amico tweeted this morning that the Wolves will work out former Baylor point guard Curtis Jerrells tomorrow, which would mean in Sacramento. He was in training camp with both San Antonio and New Orleans. Still trying to get a confirmation on that and if they will work out anybody else as well.
Telfair said the shoulder he injured in preseason "is a lot better" and he's ready for whatever Rambis asks of him.
