At the start of 2014, Collins was the point person for the $400 million Downtown East project in Minneapolis, which includes two 17-story office towers for Wells Fargo, up to 200 apartment units, restaurant and retail space, a 1,600-stall parking ramp and a two-block public park.

What happened: Collins was promoted from vice president of development for Ryan's NorthCentral division to president of the Southwest region shortly after the Downtown East project broke ground last spring. He relocated from Minneapolis to Phoenix in August, handing over Ryan's five-block project near the new Vikings Stadium to successor Tony Barranco. Construction is moving along at a steady clip. Ryan agreed to spearhead the fundraising effort for the Downtown East public park.
