Officials on Wednesday identified the pickup truck driver who was killed in a collision with a school bus bound for Anoka High School. The crash also left the bus driver and five students with minor injuries.

The pickup, towing a trailer, veered across the centerline while heading north on Roanoke Street and hit the southbound school bus just after 7 a.m. Tuesday near 175th Street, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said.

The truck driver, Dustin Cole King, 43, of Andover, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The bus driver and one student on the bus were taken to a hospital for treatment of not life-threatening injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The remaining four injured students on Route 584 were reunited with their parents, said Jim Skelly, a spokesman for the Anoka-Hennepin school district.

Investigators continued to look into why the pickup crossed into the opposite side of the road.
