Besides the Gophers, who beat Michigan State 5-1 at Mariucci on Friday, eight other WCHA teams also played last night.

Here is how they fared:

New Hampshire 5, St. Cloud State 2

After falling behind 2-0 in the opening period, the Huskies rallied to tie 2-2 in the second on goals by Andrew Prochno and Ben Hanowski. But the Wildcats scored the first three goals of the third period to take control again. Tim Daly had the Huskies' third goal in the final period.

Minnesota State 4, Alabama-Huntsville 1

Sophomore forward Chase Grant, coming off a red-shirt season for a hip injury, scored a hat trick, all on power plays for the Mavericks. Linemate Matt Leitner, also a sophomore, had a short-handed goal and three assists. The win was the first for new MSU coach Mike Hastings and came on the road.

Northern Michigan 2, Wisconsin 1, in Green Bay

The Wildcats scored two third-period goals to beat Wisconsin. Reed Seckel scored at 18 seconds during a scramble for UNM. Cohen Adair made it 2-1 Wildcats when his centering pass deflected in off a skate.

Mike Mersch had the Badgers' goal at 14:25 of the second period.

"I liked our energy early on," UW assistant coach Bill Butters said. "We didn't create a whole lot of scoring opportunities off the rushes we had, but we did move the puck well."

Minnesota Duluth 6, Ohio State 2

The Bulldogs got three three-point men in this win. Mike Seidel had two goals and one assist,, Mike Farley had a goal and two assists and Caleb Herbert had three assists.

Colorado College 5, Clarkson 4

Rylan Schwartz and Jeff Collett each scored short-handed goals in the second period for CC. Schwartz also had two assists, Collett one. This was the 300th win for Tigers coach Scott Owens.

Alaska Anchorage 2, Canisius 0

Derek Docken scored in the second period and Scott Allen in the third for the Seawolves. UAA outshot Canisius 23-14. The visitors had only five shots in the first period, six in the second and three in the third.

Nebraska Omaha 5, Army 1 in Icebreaker

Zahn Raubenheimer had a goal and two assists for UNO. Teammate Nick Seeler, a freshman defenseman from Eden Prairie, had a goal and an assist in the Mavericks' 250th win in school history. UNO will play Notre Dame in the title game of this tournament.

North Dakota 6, under-18 U.S. nat'l team 4

UND's top line had eight points and was a plus-eight. Rocco Grimaldi scored two goals and Danny Kristo and Corban Knight each had one goal and two assists. Clarke Saunders in nets for UND stopped 24 of 25 shots until he was relived.
