Nominations for the 2026 Minnesota Top Workplaces program are now open.

This is the 17th year the Minnesota Star Tribune has partnered with Pennsylvania-based Energage to rank employers in the North Star State. Energage works with media companies across the country for Top Workplaces rankings in over 65 markets.

For the Star Tribune rankings, any employer with 50 or more workers in the state can be nominated. It can be a public or private company, nonprofit or government entity.

The deadline is Jan. 30.

Participation is free, with no obligation to buy any product or service. However, nominees must agree to Energage surveying their employees.

In Minnesota last year, 137,573 workers at 389 companies participated in the survey. The result: 200 made our rankings, listed by size. Another 109 met Energage’s national standards for the survey but weren’t rated high enough to crack the ranked lists.

Across the country, Energage surveyed 2 million employees at more than 8,000 organizations in the past year.

The 25-question survey of employees covers topics from company values, communication and workplace dynamics to employee engagement, meaningfulness of work, leadership, and pay and benefits.

Employees will be surveyed through the end of March.

In June, the Star Tribune will produce a special section showcasing the 2026 Top Workplaces honorees and will hold a luncheon for the winners.

Anyone can nominate an employer by going to startribune.com/nominate or by calling 612-605-3306.
