Minnesota Scene: Defenseman Falk rejoins Wild

After a season with the New York Rangers, free agent defenseman Justin Falk is returning to the Wild.

The team signed him on Friday to a one-year, two-way contract. The 6-5, 215-pound Falk played 21 games for the Rangers last season. He had two assists and 20 penalty minutes.

The Wild drafted Falk, 25, in the fourth round (110th overall) in 2007. He played in 108 games for Minnesota from 2009-13 and had one goal and 14 assists, and 100 penalty minutes.

The Wild traded Falk to Rangers on June 30, 2013, in exchange for Benn Ferriero and a 2014 sixth-round draft pick.

Wichita center fielder Brent Clevlen had six RBI as the Wingnuts beat the St. Paul Saints 12-5 on Friday at Midway Stadium. Clevlen hit three-run and two-run homers and also had an RBI single. He was 4-for-5 with three runs scored. Five Saints players had one RBI.
