The Lynx signed Yvonne Anderson to a seven-day contract on Monday.

The 5-7 guard brings international experience to the Lynx roster as they enter a challenging stretch — four of their next seven games are against the New York Liberty, a rematch of last year’s WNBA Finals.

Anderson recently led Serbia at FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2025, averaging 14.5 points and 3.5 assists on 50% shooting. She spent the 2024-25 season with CBK Mersin in Turkey’s KBSL and EuroLeague, posting 15.5 points, 6.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds over 22 games while helping the team win the Turkish Cup and reach the league finals.

The former Texas Longhorns standout and native of Columbia, Mo., played 11 games for the Connecticut Sun in 2022 and has been on the Serbian Olympic team twice.

In 2023-24, she played alongside Emma Meesseman for Turkish club Fenerbahçe, winning the Turkish League, EuroLeague and FIBA Europe SuperCup titles.

Anderson’s signing comes as the Lynx continue to explore roster upgrades ahead of the Aug. 7 trade deadline.

Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve confirmed Tuesday that the team had been in serious pursuit of Meesseman, a two-time All-Star and former Finals MVP. While the Lynx had what Reeve described as a “great meeting” with Meesseman in Istanbul — facilitated by associate head coach Eric Thibault, who helped coach her in Washington — the Liberty are now poised to sign her as soon as she goes through the visa application process.

“We felt like we were a great franchise for her,” Reeve said, later adding, “she can only choose one.”
