Did you ever wonder where sports talk radio started? Well, we might not have the definitive answer. But we do have a LONG story on the start of WFAN in New York, which started broadcasting in a sports talk radio format 25 years ago and blazed the trail for the now ubiquitous modern format. Grantland takes you there, and it doesn't stop taking you there. You will get to the bottom and realize you are only one-third done. But if you are into "how the sausage is made" types of reads, this one is quite interesting.
