Liverpool will play Chelsea in the League Cup semifinals after Raheem Sterling scored twice in a 3-1 victory over second-tier Bournemouth on Wednesday night, and Tottenham advanced with a 4-0 rout of Newcastle.

Lazar Markovic scored between Sterling's first goals since September.

Nabil Bentaleb, Nacer Chadli, Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado scored in Tottenham's win. In the draw for the two-leg semifinal in January, Tottenham was paired with third-tier Sheffield United, which upset Southampton to advance on Tuesday.
