Thousands of Minnesotans took part in anti-Trump “No Kings” rallies across the state on Saturday.
From Zumbrota to Albert Lea, rallies were held in dozens of cities, with the largest expected at the Commons park in downtown Minneapolis.
Issues such as President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown and the government shutdown were targets of speakers and protesters.
There were few counter protests observed, but Republican leaders had criticized the “No Kings” events as “hate America” rallies.
Minnesota Star Tribune reporters Sydney Kashiwagi, Trey Mewes, Sofia Barnett and Jenny Berg contributed to this report.
