Larry Fitzgerald wants Michael Floyd in Arizona

The NFL star from Holy Angels wants to mentor the college star from Cretin-Derham Hall

Arizona's star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald says that if Cretin-Derham Hall grad and Notre Dame standout Michael Floyd is available, the Cardinals should take him.

The Arizona Republic's website, azcentral.com, reported: "Sports Illustrated's Peter King said he spoke with Fitzgerald, the Cardinals' six-time Pro Bowl receiver, and that Fitzgerald told him he wants the Cardinals to draft Floyd. 'Badly,' was how King put it."

Much like the Vikings and Matt Kalil, conventional wisdom has the Cardinals looking for help on the offensive line in the first round, with Iowa tackle Riley Reiff being their main target, according to the Republic report.

But the Cardinals haven't had much at wide receiver other than Fitzgerald since Anquan Bolden went to Baltimore a couple of years back.

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said Floyd "is a good young player. We got the chance to sit down and meet him and talk with him. ... We really enjoyed our time with him."
