Per a tweet from @N0ELTHOMPSON, the Visalia Rawhide minor league baseball team is having an "80s Throwback Night" celebration tonight at its game, which includes a jersey ceremony honoring Kirby Puckett.

Visalia, if you don't go back this far in Twins history, used to be the organization's Class A affiliate when Puck was coming up through the ranks (as you can see from that photo culled from the team's web site).

Thompson is a huge Puckett fan and says he is going to the game and ceremony tonight, so maybe if we're lucky we'll have some DISPATCHES-style reporting to share with you early next week.

Visalia, by the way, is in California and is now the D-Backs' Class A affiliate.

No truth to the rumor, as far as we know, that Reggie Jackson will be on hand to chide everyone and tell people Puckett doesn't deserve a jersey ceremony.
