Gophers target J.P. Macura of Lakeville commits to Xavier

The 6-5 senior was offered a scholarship by the Gophers in July

J.P. Macura, a sharpshooting senior from Lakeville North, announced via Twitter late Monday night that he has committed to play for Xavier.

That marks another near-miss for new Gophers coach Richard Pitino. Macura, a 6-5 shooting guard and the No. 104 recruit in the country per Rivals.com, visited Xavier two weekends ago. He was offered a scholarship by Pitino in July.
