Gophers basketball star couple Hollins and Banham get Big Ten player of week awards

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota's Andre Hollins and Rachel Banham are the Big Ten basketball players of the week.

The awards for the conference's star couple were announced Monday.

Hollins scored 27 points on seven 3-pointers at Wake Forest and added 15 points in 24 minutes against Western Carolina for the men's team. The senior shooting guard also averaged five rebounds over the two games.

His girlfriend, Banham, also led the women's team to a pair of victories. Banham scored 35 points on five 3-pointers against Butler and had 21 points at North Carolina State. The senior point guard averaged 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists over the two games.
