Annie's brand will be available in the soup aisle for the first time, part of General Mills line-up of new products expected to debut this summer.

Annie's organic soups will include such varieties as Star Pasta & Chicken, Creamy Tomato & Bunny Pasta and Creamy Carrot & Bunny Pasta, the company said Tuesday.

Golden Valley-based General Mills last year paid $820 million for Annie's, best known for its organic and natural pasta and snacks. Mills, with its Progresso brand, is one of the nation's top ready-to-eat soup makers.

Other products highlighted in General Mills' semi-annual new product launch announced Tuesday include:

Nature Valley Toasted Oats Muesli, a medley of seeds, almonds and fruit that can be eaten plain or with milk or yogurt; Yoplait Plenti, a new line of Greek yogurt that includes oats and flax and pumpkin seeds; Green Giant "Fire Roasted" vegetables; and Progresso-branded cooking stock.
