Firm acquires PriorityEdina-based Priority Integrated Marketing, which helps other companies by publishing their newsletters, designing websites and marketing via the Web, has been acquired by a New Jersey firm in the same field.
Terms of the acquisition by Dowden Health Media of Montvale, N.J., were not disclosed.
Kathryn Hammond, vice president and chief operating officer of Priority, said its 37 employees in Edina and one in Texas will keep their jobs. She and Priority's president, Jim Larranaga, will join Dowden's management team. Among Priority's clients are U.S. Bancorp, HealthEast, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.
Portico valve implantedSt. Jude Medical Inc. said Tuesday that Dr. John Webb, a physician at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, has implanted its new aortic heart valve called Portico in the first patient.
The valve is the first from the Little Canada-based company that can be implanted using a transcatheter, rather than through open-heart surgery. It is inserted through the femoral artery or through a small incision in the left ventricle of the heart.
The valve, made of bovine tissue, is a new generation transcatheter valve, an advancement over competing versions, according to the company.
