Good afternoon from frigid Denver. According to weather.com, it's 7 degrees out and "feels like minus-8," but I just went for a walk and it definitely feels like minus-10.
I'll stop complaining about the weather because I do understand you all are getting pelted back in Minnesota.
So, I'll just complain about travel.
But first, on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Central Time, I'll be holding a live online chat on startribune.com. And remember, Russo Radio on KSTP (1500-am) will be at 6 p.m. CT live from the Pepsi Center press box.
Got to Denver three hours late and missed practice due to maintenance problem on my Boeing 757. Apparently, the wind last night in Phoenix knocked the cover off the emergency slide, so United had to send an inspector in from Chicago. The wind last night in Phoenix was indeed unbelievable. Felt like a hurricane when I walked out of the Jobing Dot Com Arena. The hotel grounds looked like it had been hit by a twister.
I only tell you about my delay to explain why I didn't make practice in time.
However, here's your practice update:
-- Andrew Ebbett did not practice and is questionable with what the team's calling an upper body injury. But we all saw it. It's a head injury courtesy of a forearm shiver and possible butt-end to the mouth by Ed Jovanovski. We'll find out how he's doing in the morning.
