Ebbett, Boogaard questionable against Avalanche; Clutterbuck probable; Zidlicky didn't practice; Russo live chat Wednesday

Here is your Wild blog for the date, Dec. 8, 2000 and 9

Good afternoon from frigid Denver. According to weather.com, it's 7 degrees out and "feels like minus-8," but I just went for a walk and it definitely feels like minus-10.

I'll stop complaining about the weather because I do understand you all are getting pelted back in Minnesota.

So, I'll just complain about travel.

But first, on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Central Time, I'll be holding a live online chat on startribune.com. And remember, Russo Radio on KSTP (1500-am) will be at 6 p.m. CT live from the Pepsi Center press box.

Got to Denver three hours late and missed practice due to maintenance problem on my Boeing 757. Apparently, the wind last night in Phoenix knocked the cover off the emergency slide, so United had to send an inspector in from Chicago. The wind last night in Phoenix was indeed unbelievable. Felt like a hurricane when I walked out of the Jobing Dot Com Arena. The hotel grounds looked like it had been hit by a twister.

I only tell you about my delay to explain why I didn't make practice in time.

However, here's your practice update:

-- Andrew Ebbett did not practice and is questionable with what the team's calling an upper body injury. But we all saw it. It's a head injury courtesy of a forearm shiver and possible butt-end to the mouth by Ed Jovanovski. We'll find out how he's doing in the morning.

As for a possible Jovanovski suspension, I exchanged a number of emails this morning with NHL disciplinarian Colie Campbell, and Colie only would say really that the league reviews everything. He gave no indication as to whether Jovo will be disciplined. If he is, I'd think we'd find out Wednesday because the Coyotes next play Thursday.

-- Derek Boogaard (sick) spent the night in Phoenix and should be touching down in Denver as we speak. He's questionable for the Avs game.

-- Cal Clutterbuck (sick) tried to give it a go in warmups last night but couldn't play. He practiced today and is listed as probable against Colorado.

-- Marek Zidlicky didn't practice today because of "maintenance." He's expected to play against the Avs, but remember, when the Wild was here a few weeks ago, he took a maintenance day, was expected to play and then couldn't with a lower body injury.

Adrian Dater from the Denver Post is reporting that he believes Peter Budaj will get the nod because of a neck injury to Craig Anderson.

Keep warm and safe on the streets back there.
