Dany Heatley will miss the rest of the season, likely including the playoffs, General Manager Chuck Fletcher told me before tonight's game against Chicago.
Heatley underwent shoulder surgery this morning at the Cleveland Clinic. Fletcher said the hope was that he would miss four or five weeks, but Tony Miniaci has informed the team that Heatley will likely miss the rest of the season.
He is expected to be ready in time for the 2013-14 campaign. Heatley has one year left on his contract at a $7.5 million cap hit.
He was injured during an altercation last Wednesday in San Jose with defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic
