NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:

ConAgra Foods Inc., up $1.69 at $35.04

The maker of Chef Boyardee, Hebrew National and other packaged foods posted fiscal fourth-quarter results that beat expectations.

KB Home, down 19 cents at $19.70

The homebuilder's second-quarter loss narrowed as it delivered more homes at higher prices in the improving real estate market.

Nasdaq

Peregrine Pharmaceuticals Inc., down 36 cents at $1.20

The drug developer said it will stop studying a treatment combination involving its potential lung cancer drug bavituximab.

Bebe Stores Inc., up 33 cents at $5.58

A Janney Capital Markets analyst said in a note to clients that the teen retailer's new clothing is "re-engaging customer interest."

Progress Software Corp., up $1.13 at $23.18

The business software maker returned to profit in its fiscal second quarter as it pared losses from a unit it is selling.

Paychex Inc., down $1.39 at $36.60

The payroll processor said that net income in its fiscal fourth quarter was nearly unchanged from the year before as costs rose.

GT Advanced Technologies Inc., up 50 cents at $4.11

A Canaccord analyst upgraded the solar manufacturing company's stock to "Buy" and raised its price target to $5 from $4.

OceanFirst Financial Corp., up 66 cents at $15.21

A Sterne Agee analyst upgraded the bank's stock to "Buy," saying the company is in the midst of a transition.
