Come on down, ladies, for a good 90% off sale Feeling nostalgic for great old sales such as those at Dayton's warehouse, Bank's salvage or Rivertown Traders? Here's a good one for today's shoppers: Fashionistas can celebrate 90 percent off deals at GH2 (318 E. Hennepin Av., Mpls., 612-378-0509, www.gh2.biz).

OK, maybe GH2's high-end fashion deals aren't as cheap as a dress dripping wet from an insurance claim at Bank's. Prices after the discount are $5 to $250 on women's all-season styles from Akris, Comme des Garcons, Manolo Blahnik and Prada. Half of the items are from Edina's Grethen House boutique; the rest are consignment. Shoes and handbags are included, with a mix of fancy to casual.

The sale starts at 11 a.m. Friday and continues through Saturday. The store will be closed today to prepare for the sale.

Premium denim on sale Through Sunday, Elodie women's boutique (9140 Hudson Rd., Suite 150, Woodbury, 651-738-1818, www.shopelodie.com) discounts all of its premium denim 20 percent or more, including True Religion, Rock & Republic, Seven, William Rast, Citizens of Humanity, Joe's and AG. Summer dresses, tops and select handbags and jewelry are 20 to 50 percent off. Similar to Hot Mama in its merchandise, the Woodbury retailer has been in business for four years.

Organic meat for less Last week's deal about cheap chicken prices at Aldi didn't please the organic, cruelty-free contingent. So this week's deal is a back-to-school offer on USDA-certified organic meats and cheeses from Chaska-based Nature's Prime Organic (www.npofoods.com), good through Sept. 15. It isn't cheap, but it's from Minnesota and Wisconsin organic farmers committed to sustainable, grass-fed or vegetarian farming.

Sign up for a free membership (an e-mail address is the only requirement) and pay $85.27 (reg. $160), including shipping, for the following organic assortment: deli smoked turkey (1 pound), deli smoked ham (1 pound), deli roast beef (8 ounces), deli pastrami (8 ounces), summer sausage (12 ounces), three varieties of Cheddar cheese (1 1/2 pounds total), and smoked snackers -- a fully cooked, ready-to-eat piece of meat in its own packaging -- of turkey, chicken and ham (three 3-ounce packages per meat) and sirloin beef (three 2.5-ounce packages).

How good are the prices? Hard to say. Trader Joe's carries noncertified organic deli meats and only a few organic cheeses to compare. Whole Foods sells Applegate organic deli meats for $6 for 6 ounces, sliced organic salami for $6 for 4 ounces and its 365 brand of organic cheese for $5 for 8 ounces. Seward Co-op in Minneapolis sells some organic deli meats for $6.39 for 6 ounces. It recently added Seward's Own all-natural, hormone free, grass-fed turkey breast and roast beef from Wisconsin for $10 to $11 a pound, but it is not certified organic.

Nature's Prime packages are sent in dry ice via its own drivers. To order, call 952-556-0007.

After 10 years of planning, downsizing and finally a takeover by the city -- which served as its developer -- the Penfield, a building of market-rate apartments in downtown St. Paul, marked its grand opening Thursday, 2/6/14. A look at where things stand and whether the city is close to selling it to a private developer.
