Vikings punter Chris Kluwe will compete for marriage equality on Friday at the Brave New Workshop Theatre.
Kluwe is scheduled to debate "an empty chair" on Minnesota's proposed marriage amendment at 5 p.m., Oct. 19, at the workshop's Experimental Thinking Centre, located at 824 Hennepin Av. S. Minneapolis. Twin Cities radio personality Tom Barnard will moderate.
A blunt, outspoken opponent of the amendment, Kluwe has invited amendment supporters, including Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and former Viking Matt Birk - who also has been outspoken on the other side - to the debate. So far, his offers have reportedly gone unanswered.
The event is open to the public but reservations, made through Barnard's Facebook page, are required.
