Badgers fans who thought a run to the Big Ten tournament title game would offset a rough end to the regular season were splashed with some cold water Sunday when Wisconsin received a No. 8 seed in the NCAA tourney — setting up a first-round matchup with Virginia Tech and a likely second-round matchup with No. 1 seed Villanova if Wisconsin gets that far.
