The battle of the unbeatens didn't live up to its billing.

Sophomore quarterback Blake Gimbel threw five touchdown passes, leading Southwest Minnesota State past Minnesota State Moorhead 48-9 Saturday night in Marshall. The Mustangs (4-0) are off to their best start since 1991.

The Dragons opened the scoring on Zayne Medhaug's 5-yard run before it became all Mustangs, who had 553 yards of total offense.

St. Cloud State 31, Winona State 20: Sophomore running back Jaden Huff rushed for his second TD on a 1-yard plunge with 6 minutes, 40 seconds remaining as the Huskies rallied past the Warriors. Huff, who rushed for 126 yards on 23 carries, earlier scored on a 6-yard run. The Huskies added an insurance score when Ledell White scored on a 5-yard run with 1:46 left. They rushed for 320 yards.

MSU Mankato 63, Minnesota-Crookston 3: Three Mavericks running backs, seniors Connor Thomas and Chad Zastrow and junior Virgil Hammond, rushed for more than 100 yards each and combined for seven TDs as the No. 1-ranked team ran over the winless Eagles. It was the Mavericks' 37th consecutive victory in conference play. Zastrow finished with 115 yards and one score, Hammond added 112 yards and four second-half TDs, and Thomas had 110 yards and the first two TDs of the day.

Minnesota-Duluth 28, Upper Iowa 24: Ben McDonald caught a 1-yard TD pass from Drew Bauer with 3:39 left as the Bulldogs edged the Peacocks. It was Bauer's second TD pass. He also scored on a 2-yard run.

Bemidji State 47, Concordia 7: The Beavers dominated this matchup on both sides of the ball, posting a 32-5 advantage in first downs and 517-109 advantage in total offense. Sophomore quarterback Jordan Hein connected on 22 of 30 passes for 272 yards and four TDs.

Augustana (S.D.) 41, Minot State (N.D.) 17: Junior quarterback Trey Heid threw for three TDs while senior running back Justin Greenway ran for two as the Vikings downed the Beavers. Heid was 23-for-36 passing for 329 yards while Greenway wound up with 211 all-purpose yards.

Wayne State (Neb.) 24, Mary (N.D.) 10: The Wildcats won their final interdivision matchup in a series that has produced closes games. The previous three meetings were decided by seven points or fewer.

Sioux Falls (S.D.) 28, Northern State (S.D.) 10: Junior quarterback Luke Papilion threw two TD passes to Garrett Shutt as the undefeated and No. 7-ranked Cougars knocked off the winless Wolves.

St. Scholastica 45, Crown 0: Junior linebacker Mitch Ejnik returned a punt for a TD, had two of the Saints' three interceptions and recovered a fumble in a shutout victory over the Storm.

Macalester 41, Grinnell 13: Sophomore quarterback Christian Adams threw three TD passes as the Scots beat the winless Pioneers for their first victory of the season.
