Wolves rally, but lose NBA Summer League opener

After falling behind by 21 points at the start of the fourth quarter, the Timberwolves staged a huge rally but lost 70-69 to the Denver Nuggets on Friday night in their NBA Summer League opener in Las Vegas.

Isaiah Cousins led the Wolves with 15 points and 6-9 center Amile Jefferson had 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Josh Okogie, the team's first-round draft pick, had 10 points on 2-for-10 shooting from the field and 5-for-8 from the free throw line in a game-high 33 minutes, and Keita Bates-Diop, their second-round pick, had nine points. He was 3-for-10 on field goals. The Wolves, who never led, outscored Denver 22-9 in the fourth quarter, ending the game on an 18-4 run. Their next game will be against Toronto at 2 p.m. Sunday.
