WNBA: Los Angeles wins in preview of playoff

LOS ANGELES 65, SEATTLE 48: Marie Ferdinand-Harris scored 14 points, DeLisha Milton-Jones added 12 and the Sparks led all the way Sunday in beating the Storm at home in a preview of their WNBA playoff series. The two teams will meet in the first round beginning Friday night at Staples Center.

INDIANA 103, PHOENIX 89: Tammy Sutton-Brown scored a career-high 26 points and the Fever set a franchise scoring record in a home victory over the Mercury in the regular-season finale for both teams. Indiana's previous record came in a 102-96 triple-overtime loss to New York on June 26.

HOUSTON 79, CHICAGO 76: Tina Thompson had 26 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks and the Comets beat the Sky in Chicago. Mistie Williams had 13 points and nine rebounds for Houston (16-17), which won its second in a row.

DETROIT 61, NEW YORK 59: Deanna Nolan and Plenette Pierson scored 11 points each in the Shock's victory in New York in the teams' season finale.
