Who's left? A recap of injuries in the Twins outfield
The Twins on Monday started Kyle Garlick in left field, Rob Refsnyder in center and Alex Kirilloff in right. That figures to be the outfield alignment for the immediate future, since virtually every other outfielder they have on the major league roster is hurt, with Trevor Larnach showing up Monday wearing a walking boot. A refresher:
BYRON BUXTON hip
The center fielder was off to an MVP-caliber first month of the season before landing on the injured list May 7 because of a Grade 2 hip strain. It's still unclear as to when he will return.

.
JAKE CAVE back
Cave went from nearly playing every day — he played in 31 of the Twins' first 34 games — to being placed on the 60-day injured list on May 16 because of a stress reaction in his lower back.
.
LUIS ARRAEZ shoulder
The starter in left field 13 times this season, Arraez injured his right shoulder May 22 sliding headfirst in Cleveland and was placed on the injured list for the second time this season.
.
MAX KEPLER hamstring
The Twins had been careful with Kepler, who had been swinging a good bad but was having trouble running. Still, he made his left hamstring worse running out a grounder Saturday and is now on the IL.
.
TREVOR LARNACH foot
The rookie, recalled when Buxton went down, is said to be day-to-day after getting hit in the left foot with a pitch against Kansas City on Sunday, an injury that made him unavailable Monday.
about the writer
The Chicago Cubs have added Matthew Boyd to their rotation in their first big offseason move, agreeing to a $29 million, two-year contract with the veteran left-hander, according to a person familiar with the negotiations.
