Dolan dropped
Barrington Research analyst James Goss has dropped coverage on the Dolan Co. The Minneapolis-based provider of professional services and business information services reported earnings on Tuesday that were short of modest expectations and shares dropped on Wednesday, closing below $1 per share. Goss wrote that he admires company management but wrote "it does not appear that there is any quick fix that will restore investment appeal to this name over any reasonable time horizon. In addition, as management has attempted to right its ship, the business mix has moved further and further away from our core media coverage."
3-D Split
3-D Systems Corp. of Rock Hill, S.C., and locally based Stratasys Ltd. are two of the biggest players in the 3-D printer market. 3-D Systems is a little larger and faster growing, but both are analyst favorites. According to Bloomberg News, 12 of the 16 analysts covering Stratasys and 11 of the 15 analysts covering 3-D Systems have ''buy'' recommendations. Each company has two ''hold'' and two ''sell'' recommendations.
JPMorgan analyst Paul Coster covers both companies and appears bullish on long-term value of each but he has a ''buy'' on Stratasys and a ''hold'' on 3-D Systems. He thinks the stock of 3-D Systems is fully valued while Stratasys is still "approaching fair value in our view." On both he suggests looking for pullbacks as buying opportunities.
