Lindsay Whalen of the Lynx was named to the All-WNBA first team today, and teammate Seimone Augustus was on the second team.
The first team included WNBA MVP Tamika Catchings, the Indiana forward, who led all vote-getters with 187 points; Atlanta forward Angel McCoughtry (172), Phoenix guard Diana Taurasi (168), Connecticut center Tina Charles (166) and Whalen (164).
A nationwide panel of sportswriters and sportscasters voted for the team. Players got five points for a first-team vote, and three for a second-team vote.
Whalen led the league is assists, averaging 5.9 per game. She was also a first-team All-WNBA player while in Connecticut.
The second team included Chicago center Sylvia Fowles (150), Seattle guard Sue Bird (123), New York guard Cappie Pondester (94), Phoenix forward Penny Taylor (82) and Augustus (69).
First-team players get $10,000 each and second-teamers get $5,000.
