Moose Lake-Willow River will play in the Prep Bowl for the first time next week, thanks to a narrow victory over Luverne in the Class 2A semifinals.

The Rebels await the winner of tomorrow's semifinal "hyphen off" between Waterville-Elysian-Morristown and Eden Valley-Watkins.

Austin Jacobson rushed 22 yards for 152 yards and two TDs for the Rebels and Michael Unzen ran 18 times for 100 yards and a TD. Taylor Mulder of Luverne ran 17 times for 84 yards and a score.

Luverne had 22 first downs to 14 for Moose Lake and had 351 total yards to the Rebels' 283. But three turnovers and six penalties hurt Luverne's chances. All of Moose Lake's yards came on the ground.

Next up is the 5A semifinal between Brainerd and Cretin-Derham Hall.
