Federer, Ivanovic are top seeds Five-time champion Roger Federer and top-ranked Ana Ivanovic were seeded No. 1 for Wimbledon on Wednesday. The tournament will begin Monday.
Rafael Nadal, runner-up at Wimbledon the past two years, was No. 2, and Novak Djokovic, the Australian Open champion, No. 3. Andy Roddick of the U.S. was No. 6.
Ivanovic, the French Open champion, was followed by Jelena Jankovic. Former champion Maria Sharapova was No. 3. Two-time winner Serena Williams was No. 6 and defending champion and four-time winner Venus Williams No. 7.

Russia gains; Sweden,Greece out Russia defeated Sweden 2-0 and secured the final spot in the quarterfinals of soccer's European Championship. Roman Pavlyuchenko and Andrei Arshavin scored in Innsbruck, Austria, as Russia took second in Group D. Spain, already assured of the top spot in the group, beat Greece 2-1 and sent the defending champion home.
