The United States earned a top seed in the knockout round of the world championship with an 88-51 victory over Iran on Wednesday.
Kevin Love scored 13 points and Kevin Durant 12 for the Americans (4-0), who will meet the fourth-place team from Group A in the round of 16.
After playing his starters for most of the second half of a 70-68 victory over Brazil on Monday, coach Mike Krzyzewski went to the bench early, with the Americans shooting 58 percent and scoring 23 points off turnovers in the easy victory.
In other games: Marc Gasol led defending champion Spain into the second round, scoring 25 points in a 91-57 rout of Lebanon in Group D. Ricky Rubio went 0-for-7 from the field but had seven assists. ... West Virginia to honor miners For one game only, the West Virginia Mountaineers will forgo blue and gold.
For the long-running rivalry known as the Backyard Brawl -- the Nov. 26 game at Pitt -- the Mountaineers will suit up in black and white uniforms that pay tribute to the 29 men killed in the Upper Big Branch mine explosion.
Nike is footing the bill for the gear. The white is a shade that appears as if it's covered in a fine layer of coal dust. The numbers are in smudged black. Accents and footwear are brilliant gold, which doubles as a reference to the canaries miners used generations ago to signal trouble in the underground atmosphere.
