Finally, a sufficient excuse to migrate my social-networking needs from MySpace to Facebook: One of Facebook's many third-party applications is Scrabulous, an interactive word game that mimics Scrabble's layout and rules. You can conveniently play with friends through your Facebook account, or just use the Scrabulous site, which also has an under-construction solitaire version. But you'd better play soon, because Scrabulous is under legal pressure from the real Scrabble -- which may have a copyright-infringement case. Scrabble should have been smart enough to do the game online years ago; at the very least, it should buy Scrabulous and keep the new fans coming.
