The USA women's national team will hold a training camp from Tuesday to April 2 in Minneapolis ahead of the women's Final Four.
It will include seven players who have previously won gold medals while playing for USA Basketball at the senior level. The training camp will end with a free practice April 2 open to the public from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Tourney Town, located inside the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Among those accepting invitations to the training camp are Lynx players Angel McCoughtry and Aerial Powers.
Three U gymnasts honored
Fifth-year seniors Lexy Ramler and Ona Loper and sophomore Mya Hooten of the Gophers were named All-America gymnasts by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association.
Ramler earned first team All-America honors in the all-around and beam and was named to the second team on bars. Loper was named to the first team in the all-around and vault, while Hooten was named to the first team on floor and second team on vault.
NSIC wrestling honors
Minnesota State Mankato junior Darrell Mason, the NCAA Division II champion at heavyweight, was named the NSIC Wrestler of the Year.
Mason, of Chicago, was 22-0 and was named the outstanding wrestler at the national tournament. He had two pins and seven major decisions
Augustana's Jason Reitmeier was named the NSIC Coach of the Year. He led the Vikings to an 8-1 conference record and won his 200th career dual meet this season.
