Preview: The road ahead appears less cumbersome for Minnesota, which plays its next two games away against San Antonio and Fort Lauderdale, teams who have the fewest points in the North American Soccer League standings. … A victory last week moved Minnesota into a three-way tie for second place with 11 points, two shy of league-leading Atlanta. … Minnesota and San Antonio played to a scoreless draw on April 6. The Scorpions are 1-0-4 in five regular-season games with United FC.

United FC at a glance: A rejuvenating 3-2 victory at defending NASL champion Tampa Bay last week put Minnesota back on solid ground after a three-game losing streak. … Cristiano Dias, Simone Bracalello and Geison Moura each scored first-half goals. Pablo Campos registered two assists. He has four assists, tying him for the league lead.

San Antonio at a glance: The Scorpions are tied for the fewest goals scored (seven) and most goals allowed (12) among NASL teams. … With a nod to the return of former players Campos, Aaron Pitchkolan and Daryl Sattler, Scorpions head coach Tim Hankinson called United his team's "great rival" and noted "both teams play it as if it was a Cup final every time we match up." … San Antonio goalie Pat Hannigan has 22 saves, the second most in the NASL. The Scorpions are coming off a 1-0 loss at Atlanta last Saturday.
