Forwards Dani Cameranesi and Hannah Brandt and junior defenseman Lee Stecklein of the Gophers were named to the All-WCHA first team in women's hockey on Thursday while teammate Sarah Potomak was picked rookie of the year.

Cameranesi, a junior, was the league's scoring champion with 24 goals and 29 assists for 53 points in conference games. Brandt, a senior, made the first team for the fourth time — a program first.

Potomak, a forward, leads the nation's freshmen in scoring with 12 goals and 37 assists for 49 points.

Senior defenseman Milica McMillen made the All-WCHA second team, Potomak the third team.

The Gophers will play North Dakota at 5 p.m. Saturday in the WCHA Final Face-Off semifinals at Ridder Arena.

National nod to MIAC

Senior Jordan Bolger of Concordia Moorhead was named one of 10 finalists for the Josten's NCAA Division III player of the year award. He averaged 18.8 points and 8.5 rebounds for the Cobbers and, earlier this week, was named the MIAC's player of the year.

The 6-6 forward from Apple Valley — he played for Eastview High School — finished in the top 10 in the conference in 13 different statistical categories.

Tommie honored

St. Thomas center Kaitlin Langer, a junior from Hill-Murray, was named the MIAC's player of the year in women's basketball. She led the Tommies to the conference regular-season and playoff championships, averaging 17 points and 8.9 rebounds.

St. Thomas (24-3, 16-2 MIAC), ranked No. 9 in the nation, will open NCAA Division III play at 5 p.m. Friday against Loras College in River Falls, Wis.
