From high school sports guy Brian Stensaas:

Apple Valley basketball phenom Tyus Jones can add another feather to his cap.

He was named Thursday to the 2012 Under Armor Elite 24 team that will dunk and dazzle on the outdoor courts of Venice Beach, Calif., on Aug. 25. The game will be carried live at 6 p.m. Central time on ESPNU.

Jones, a 6-1 guard who has not decided on a college yet and signed impromptu autographs for more than a half hour at the boys' basketball tournament in March, is ranked as the No. 2 player in the Class of 2014 by ESPN.

He was one of 12 final players announced to the event Thursday. Others scheduled to participate include ESPN 2013 No. 2 recruit Andrew Harrison (PG, Richmond, TX) and Andrew Wiggins (SF, Toronto) - the only player ahead of Jones on the ESPN 2014 list.
